Changes Can Be Good, Even If A Bit Scary

Over the next while, you will notice some changes (a few big ones) at DisabilityPride.net.

First, after three years of employment with me, Mary Wilson has decided to move on to other employment. She has accepted a position in Truro, where her two biological daughters attend school. With the constant increases in gas prices and the daily demands of life in general, there has been continual stress for many people.

I know well that Mary did not make this decision easily nor lightly. I’d say it’s been weighing on her since the start of 2022.

I will always immensely appreciate the three years that Mary and I have spent working together at DisabilityPride.net. At the beginning of covid, Mary’s support was astronomical and I will never forget how we faced together, workplace challenges that was brought by the global pandemic. Then, many employers were not allowing staff to work at more than one job. Not only did we make it through all that, but we did so without even the slightest bit of strife or disagreement. We supported each other completely. For that alone, I owe her immense gratitude. I will never forget working with her through that time.

We have already phased out Mary’s role as DisabilityPride.net’s  Communications Manager and my Personal Administrative Assistant, with a final employment end date of mid-November or sooner.

It is our strong belief that Mary and I will remain good friends. We have the upmost respect and love for one another, and I wish her the upmost happiness in all she does.

Over the next while, I will be announcing an updated position within my workplace. Anyone interested, keep abreast for upcoming job notices.

There is much more going on behind the scenes and “Ask Gerianne” will be back, although likely rebranded. So have no fear, DisabilityPride.net will remain active and involved, and speaking with first voice lived experience.

Due to unexpected technical difficulties, Ask Gerianne will be back as soon as possible. Gerianne’s computer crashed and the final copy of the most recent video has yet to be retrieved.

We are still looking for more questions! We love sharing Gerianne’s thoughts, feelings, and experiences with you but without questions, it’s just Gerianne talking to herself
